Hugh grew up with a love for horses in Clifton, Texas.  Having horses in high school, he enjoyed roping and riding as well as working some cattle on his father's farm.  Hugh married Betty during their second year of college some 50 years ago.  The horses had to take second fiddle to completing their education and raising their family.  In the early 1970's, Hugh and Betty decided they wanted to get their horse operation going strong once again.  This was a chance for Hugh to have some R & R and Betty to get Hugh out of the house!!

After just a couple of years, two horses grew into a breeding program with facilities on the east side of El Paso, TX.  Around 1990, the state of Texas decided to widen a road and take their home, so they moved to southern New Mexico to continue their program.

Over the years, we have been blessed with a few remarkable trainers that have helped to develop our bloodlines as well as show our horses.  We have always shown the horses that we have raised and trained.  In the past 15 years, we have been fortunate to have Larry Sanchez as our trainer for three years and Joby Priest as our trainer for four years.  Both of these young men did a wonderful job in training and showing the horses we raised.  The most important thing they did was to teach our grand-daughters about understanding and training the bloodlines that we had developed.

Their leadership has been the reason R
ebecca and Rachael, our grand-daughters, have become World class exhibitors, winning may PHBA World Championships in all areas of performance showing.  They have won World Championships in both youth and open divisions of PHBA and have qualified several horses for the youth AQHYA world Show.

Royce Goodman and Rebecca McReynolds Woodward are two of our newest trainers, instructors, and exhibitors for Double T Quarter Horses.  We will continue to raise athletic horses that are pretty and have great minds.  Please call or e-mail us for any information you may have concerning horses for sale or training.

Our trainers are equipped and ready to train your horse and give you the most qualified lessons. Give us a call!
